General Summary:
Reporting to the Planning and Deployment Manager, the position of Planning and Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for scheduling and managing the deployment of finished products, ingredients and packaging for the Downingtown Plant while verifying product are in conformance to HACCP/CTS guidelines and quality standards
Primary Responsibilities:
Create, enter, and revise orders in the system (SAP), and send orders to Transplace to secure carriers as well as determine loading times and shipping schedule for daily shipments. Respond to daily carrier changes as required.
Communicates daily inbounds for ingredients/ packaging and troubleshooting with the Planning Supervisor with regards discrepancies. Works with supervisor and support departments to troubleshoot safety, product quality and efficiency issues.
Work closely with the Corporate Planning/Logistics department, Distribution Centers and Plant Operations to deploy product to the DC's to insure customer service levels are maintained.
Start, reconcile and finish process orders. Reconcile commits, deviations and changeover daily as well as reconcile PSAs weekly and investigate any large discrepancies.
Oversee and provide supervisory direction to the site Traffic department. Review daily crewing requirements to ensure all pertinent positions are filled. Consistently maintain a safe working environment including prompt response to items needing maintenance attention, and awareness and monitoring of employee practices. Provide thorough accident investigation and complete accident reports on a timely basis. When needed, participate in the completion of a 3-A for reportable injuries. Enforce Company policies and procedures. Prepare accurate and detailed performance appraisals including probationary reviews and annual reviews.
Schedule process orders in MiniMiint and serve as backup for the master data lead for the Plant.
Works with vendors to release materials as needed from corporate negotiated purchase order agreements.
Run Bills of Lading for shipments and suggest remedial actions to resolve discrepancies between inventory and stock control records.
Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments in addition to insuring that all HACCP and related activities are performed.
Inputs Frozen employee store orders for the network and communicates with the corresponding distribution centers. Manages the onsite inventory of the Downingtown employee store and partners with local HR as well as the Denver facility from a flow / thrift standpoint.
Job Complexity:
Must possess the ability to overcome resistance to organizational change, influence both hourly and salaried employees to embrace it, and lead the change initiative.
Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize based on business needs.
Must develop and maintain rapport with employees at all levels of the Campbell Soup/Pepperidge Farm organization to drive results.
Must stay current with respect to new Lean concepts and methodologies, and lead teams focusing on cost reduction through the utilization of Lean tools.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required.
3-5 years job related experience in a CPG environment.
Computer proficiency is required in the following: Windows-based software applications (Word, Excel, and Access), Outlook, Desktop Publishing, and Power Point.
SAP, Envision, and Manugistic experience preferred.
Production and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
Must be able to work in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong mathematical, analytical and decision-making skills.
Self-Starter and results oriented.
Logical, organized, flexible, and multi-task oriented.
Ability to operate a forklift.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment, which includes office, production floor, maintenance shop, and warehouse settings. Exposure to operating equipment, industrial noise, forklift traffic, and temperature extremes is typical.
